F3 - Literacy for All: Supporting Literacy Learning for Students with Significant Cognitive Disabilities
The Literacy for All Community of Practice (2011-2017) provided an opportunity for teachers across Alberta to work together, to share ideas, and to find out which resources and what kind of literacy instruction would make a difference in supporting literacy success for their students with significant cognitive disabilities. During each year of the community of practice, teachers asked tough questions, explored solutions, and shared their experiences and expertise. This session will highlight key learnings identified to support reading and writing success for students with significant cognitive disabilities.
