Melanie Houston and Sarah Paulson
Dr. Melanie Houston has been a speech language pathologist with Victoria School District for over 30 years. She has a doctorate focusing on developmental child language disorders and literacy. She has taught at both UBC and the University of Victoria. She has published and presented research both in Canada and internationally.
Sarah Paulson has been a teacher at Sir James Douglas Elementary for 17 years in various roles, including French Immersion, classroom and inclusive learning support teacher. She has a masters degree in special education. She has been determined to make sure that each child attending SJD receives systematic, explicit and intense literacy instruction making best use of all resources.
